Summary:
This position performs a wide variety of routine and complex technical and administrative work for the Vehicle/Vessel Licensing Division of the Auditor's Office.
This employee analyzes, regulates, and enforces statutory requirements for all state and federally mandated title and registration laws.
Assists citizens in licensing, titling, and filling vehicle/vessel documents.
Collects statutory vehicle/vessel revenues including but not limited to all sales and use taxes.
As an agent for the Department of Licensing, verifies all legal documents for compliance with state and federal laws.
Ensures that Department of Licensing rules and regulations are adhered to along with County policies and procedures.
This employee works in partnership with other employees, departments/divisions, external entities, and the public in delivering effective and innovative services.
This position will also learn the basics of the Recording Division of the Auditor's Office.
The duties for this job will be to learn to record historic, permanent documents into the recording system.
Document searches are also a main responsibility for this job.

Essential Functions:
Perform a broad variety of routine clerical, technical and accounting activities for the Vehicle/Vessel Division.
Maintain confidentiality of information consistent with applicable federal, state and county rules and regulations.
Interact with customers, employees, staff, and the public to resolve problems, answer questions, provide information, and other services related to these two departments.
Operate cash drawer and balance on daily basis; prepare reports as required.
Maintain working inventories of tabs, plates and other accountable inventory assigned to workstation.
Process documents filed with the Vehicle/Vessel Licensing Division in accordance with legal requirements and regulations.
Verifies title and registration documents received, by utilizing appropriate reference manuals and materials to determine legal qualifications and ensure accuracy and completeness.
Accept and process applications and payments for powered and non-powered vehicles and vessels, which may include the issuance of license tabs, license plates, specialized license plate applications, permits, and tonnage.
Process vehicle and vessel dealer title work.
Record and index documents into the recording software for the Recording Division as needed.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Auditor.
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must observe strict confidentiality regarding all information obtained in course of employment.
Knowledge of Microsoft office programs, such as word, excel, etc.
with a typing ability of 50 words per minute.
Knowledge of simple bookkeeping, research and filing.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with the public, other employees, and agencies using courtesy, tact, and good judgement.
Respectful and courteous to customers, workers, and County leadership.
A team player that helps the organization meet its objectives.
Takes initiative to meet work objectives, and effective time management for high volume of work and customers.
Effectively communicates with customers and other County employees.
Must be able to work calmly under pressure, meet deadlines and cope with interruptions.
Demonstrates honest and ethical behavior.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must successfully pass a background check.
Must be 18 years or older.
Valid driver's license required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Work is performed in an office setting with periods of standing, sitting and kneeling.
This positions also requires good listening skills and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Because of the nature of this position, duties must be performed during regular hours within the department (no telecommuting).
Position may be required to attend professional conferences and meetings outside of the office setting.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
